Barbara "Betty" Cleveland, 88, of Biloxi, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 27, 2017 in Gulfport.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, EC Cleveland; and her parents, Otto and Betty Schmidt. She is survived by her son, Richard A. Cleveland (Diane) of Gulf Breeze, FL; 2 granddaughters and 1 great-grandson.
Betty was a native of Meridian, MS and has been a resident of Biloxi for the past 65 years. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Elementary Education and she also graduated from Jeff Davis Jr. College with an associates degree in Hotel Management. Betty was a 4th grade teacher at Beauvoir Elementary and had also worked in the 1940's with Bell Telephone.
She was a member of Popps Ferry Baptist Church; a member of the Busy Bees; and was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Den 2 of Pack 222. Betty was a book collector and an avid reader. She was proud of her German heritage and she enjoyed her travels to Germany. She also traveled to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon and Vegas. And she loved her Nascar and #18 Kyle Bush.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
