Barbara “Babs” Carrubba, 67 of Gulfport passed away on September 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born on December 10, 1956 in Gulfport, MS to the late Coonie & Louise Ball. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Erica Carrubba; and brother, Joe Ball.
Babs graduated from Harrison Central High School in 1974, and was a part of their 50th reunion. She loved spending time in the outdoors in her garden. Babs was an avid sports fan and loved the Braves, Saints, women’s basketball, football, and Nascar. One of her favorite peaceful times was spending time next to the water. She always found solace in the peaceful things in life. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many. Her legacy lives on in all of us, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Babs is survived by her granddaughter, Amiah Carrubba; former husband, Jerry Carrubba; brother, Glenn (Yevonne) Ball; nephews, J.B. Ball , Bret Ball, Ryan Ball, and Joe Ball Jr.; niece, Tricia Switzer; uncle, Leroy Urie; and cousins who made Babs feel like a sister, Lisa, Lynne, Maggie, Phyllis, and Nancy. Babs also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport (11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport). Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home Gulfport with burial to follow at Saucier Cemetery.
