Audrey Leona Wilder, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016.
She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on July 25, 1928. She was a longtime resident of Gulfport, Mississippi and a member of Orange Grove Church of Christ. She graduated from Gulfport High School in the Class of 1947. After graduating, she was employed at Woolworth as the manager of the lunch counter, then later as the manager of the lunch counter at McCrory's. From there she worked as a cashier at A & P Grocery on 13th Street; all were in downtown Gulfport. After that she devoted her life to her husband and raising their two daughters.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Orville Wilder, Jr. of 68 beautiful years; two lovely daughters, Judy Ann and husband James Larry Swindell, and Janet Faye and husband, Timothy Mark Chapin; four grandchildren, Angelia Melissa and husband James Henry King, Aimee Rebecca Chapin, James Vernon Swindell and wife, Tonia, and Jason Scott Chapin; three great-grandchildren, James Cason King, Isabella Grace King and River Wilder Chapin
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m.
