Asterio Acuna Armada

Asterio Acuna Armada, age 84, passed away on June 5, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Macaria Acuna Armada, and his brothers, Franco and Edgardo Armada.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Angeles Armada; his daughter, Arlene Armada Manalo; his sister, Erlicita Armada; and his grandsons, Jason and Matthew Manalo.

Born in the Philippines, Asterio was a longtime resident of Gulfport. He served 20 years in the United States Navy before retiring and held an Associate of Arts degree. He was also a member of the Filipino American Association.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave., Biloxi, MS.
