Arthur Carl Holzweissig, also known as "Mr.H", passed away at his home in Long Beach on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 89.
He was preceded in death by parents Arthur & Martha Holzweissig of Pasadena, CA. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Wilma "Billie" Holzweissig; children, Larry, David, Jeff, Russell, Sandra & Jillian Schmermund, Pam & Diane Holzweissig and brother "Charlie"; along with 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Being a World War II Vet and officer in the Navy, he then graduated from the University of Montana which led him to a career in agriculture and forestry at NASA. Settling in Long Beach, MS as an active community member which included his involvement as President of the Long Beach Historical Society, volunteering at the local food bank, Long Beach Presbyterian Special Sunday School Class Instructor and 15 year Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 205, where in 2011 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award.
Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Long Beach Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Second Street in Long Beach, with the service directly following at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the Long Beach Boy Scouts of America.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 23rd at Biloxi National Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach is serving the family and the online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com
