Arthur Carter, age 84, passed away June 2, 2022.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Burris Carter; Cynthia Woodcock (Carter); parents, Rev. Edward H. Carter and Nettie Savoy Carter; his granddaughter, Krystle M. Carter; and his siblings; Grace Holland, Bessie Lloyd, Joyce Slade, Mittie Alford, Mary Harrison, Nettie Jo. Warfield, James M. Carter, and 2 brothers.

Arthur is survived by William M. “Billy” Carter (Judy), Duane N. “Nick” Carter (Christine); 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

He was a long-time resident of Gulfport, MS. Arthur retired from the Gulfport FD after 24 years. He was a member of Bel Aire Baptist Church and post member, as well as deacon, at Michael Member Baptist Church. Arthur traveled extensively and enjoyed camping and long Sunday drives. In his camping days, he visited 48 States. His favorite spot to drive was in Arizona because of the long winding roads.

Visitation will be 9-10:30am, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Bel Aire Baptist Church. A funeral service will be after the service at 10:30am. Interment is at Finley Cemetery.
