Arnold "Pat" Ladner

Mr. Arnold Louis 'Pat' Ladner, age 78
The beloved patriarch of Diamond L Farms in Pass Christian began his final retirement in Heaven with his Savior Thursday, 1 August, 2013. He passed away in Gulfport, MS at Memorial Hospital due to health complications during prayers of Divine Mercy said by his family.
He was born in Hancock County MS, July 29, 1935.
Mr. Ladner proudly served his country in the 5th Armed Division during the Korean war. He was a member of Sheet Metal Union Local 11. He owned Shady Oaks Trailer Park, former Bell Creek Turf, Inc. and various businesses over the years that never made him wealthy but always served him well.
He was a member of American Legion Post 58 and Knights of Columbus Council 12331. The annual KC Community Service Progect he anticipated the most was delivering Christmas Gift baskets to less fortunate. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Dedeaux and a devoted participant in the South Mississippi Cursillo Movement. He was selected as the 2010 recipient of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Lumen Christi (Light of Christ) Award for his parish.
His favorite pastimes included spending time with his family, especially being with grand and great-grandchildren, story telling, working the farm, creating the prayer garden on the grounds of Sacred Heart Church which included stepping stones to replicate the Chaplet of St. Michael as well as watching the progress of our new church from ground up and working from ""can to can't.""
He slipped from this world pain free surrounded by his wife of 57 years, Betty Lou Ladner, his children, Kurt (Candy) Ladner of Gulfport, Sandra Ladner, Connie (Craig) Deschamp, Donnie Ladner, Gary Ladner of Pass Christian and Mark (Charlotte) Ladner of Kiln. Grandchildren include Kyle (Erica) Ladner, Karee (Timmy)Enroth, Denton Ladner, Raygen (April) Ladner, Brian (Amber) Deschamp, Cody Deschamp, Lil Gary Ladner, Ty Ladner, Caise Ladner, J.J. (Bianca) Moran, Tasha Bernard, Kim Ladner,and Robbie Ladner. His great-grandchildren include Devon Ladner, Raelynn Ladner, Ella, Tucker, and Taylor Enroth, Holly, Colby, and Gracey Candebat.
Also taken into the Ladner fold to be loved, guided and considered family is Lila Moran, Mindy Yarborough, Diana Owens, and Father Mike O'Connor.
His siblings left to cherish his memories are his brother Chlaford Ladner, Kiln, MS; sisters Sylvia (Myron) Proctor, Cinncinnati, OH; Vernita Mountain, San Antonio, TX; Betty Jo Ames, Denver, CO; Tecia (A.J.) Ladner, Theodore, AL; Janice (Billy) Dedeaux, Perkinston, MS; Thelma (Dennis) Mulvihill; San Jose, CA; Nancy Ladner, Kiln, MS; Jean Ladner, Long Beach, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Ladner is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Izetta Ladner, his son Brian Patrick Ladner, brothers, Ferral Ladner, Winton Ladner, Murt Ladner and sisters Irma Reese and Alfreda Monus.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of services and an online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com. Celebration will be on Monday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Dedeaux Cursillo/Retreat Center and continues Tuesday 10:00 a.m at Sacred Heart Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial at Alphonse Malley/Sandhill Cemetery, Fenton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Building Fund, 14595 Vidalia Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571. A project close to his heart that he couldn't wait to see completed.
As for the rest of the Ladner family, we will continue to share the many memories and the moments full of joy that was shared with us by a husband, a father, a grandfather and most of all, our Daddy and our Pa. We will have these memories deeply planted in our hearts and in our minds and will be cherished for the rest of our lives. For a man shall leave his mother to be with his wife, he shall also leave his family to be with the Almighty God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for us, to have eternal life in Heaven. Amen.
