Ardyth Shepherd

December 1, 1994 — May 24, 2013

Ardyth Shepherd, 76, died May 24, 2013. She was a Lutheran, and a native of Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Merle F. Shepherd, who died in the Battle of the Bulge, and her mother, Mildred L. Shepherd of Minneapolis.
Ardyth entered the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and served in MATS, 38th Air Transport Squadron as a Flight Traffic Specialist, McGuire AFB, NJ. She moved to Pensacola in January 1959 and was employed as Head Bookkeeper most of her career.
In October 1994, she came to the VA Medical Center in Biloxi, and lost her leg to Type II Diabetes in December 1994. The past five years she volunteered at the Veterans Hospital in Gulfport and Biloxi. Ardyth always praised the care she received from the staff at the VA, and said she felt close to many of them for their kindnesses to her. She also appreciated the many volunteers she met and became friends with, who donated their time to cheering up the patients and cared for many of their personal needs.
Ardyth is remembered by her friends who love her greatly. At her request there will be no funeral services. RIEMANN FAMILY FH, Biloxi assisted the family.
