April Patton Lund (Thompson), born on March 28, 1972, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, LA, passed away surrounded by love on June 2, 2026, in Gulfport, MS. A soul marked by a sweet yet stubborn spirit, April’s presence was always illuminated by a beautiful smile that captivated the hearts of those around her.
Her journey through life was rooted in the tides of the Gulf Coast, where she graduated from Long Beach in 1989, forging memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. April’s love for animals was not just a pastime but a profound passion that reflected her gentle nature and nurturing heart. She found joy and solace among the creatures she so dearly cherished, a testament to a kindness deeply woven into her character.
April’s personality was a delicate dance of warmth and determination. Those who knew her recall the tender softness balanced by a resolve that was unyielding, a mix that made her both approachable and unforgettable. Her beautiful smile was not only a reflection of her inner light but a gift she freely gave to any who needed it.
She leaves behind a circle of beloved family and friends who carry forward her legacy of love and strength. Her partner, Roger Gremillion, stood by her side through the years, sharing in life’s triumphs and trials. Her mother, Karen Varnado, and father, Herbert Lund, who nurtured her growth from the very beginning, remain pillars of her story. April’s siblings—sister Caroline Lindsay (Alton), and brothers Matthew and Thomas Lund—continue to hold her memory close, alongside her niece Lacie Randall (Keith) and nephew Al Lindsay IV (Lauren). The laughter of great nephews Ace and Jax Randall echoes as a living tribute to April's enduring influence. The warm embrace of numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends further illustrates the breadth of her impact.
April also joins in quiet remembrance her maternal grandparents, Alton and Eva Varnado, and paternal grandparents, Mary and Orville Lund, who preceded her in passing but whose legacies live on in the family they helped shape.
