In Loving Memory of Angela Ruth Angle

Angela Ruth Angle, 63, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, in Gulfport with her family by her side.

Angela was born on January 15, 1963, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was a loving mother, grandmother, soulmate, daughter, and friend whose kindness, sense of humor, and unforgettable personality touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Angela graduated from Harrison Central High School in Gulfport in 1981. She later attended Phillips Junior College, where she studied Travel and Tourism and earned her associate degree.

Much of Angela's career was spent serving others through her work in the banking and financial industry. She worked at Hancock Bank and later at Keesler Federal Credit Union as a Document Specialist and Mortgage Loan Processor. Before retiring, she spent several months working in Patient Registration at Memorial Hospital.

But Angel's greatest joy was not found in her career---it was found in her family.

She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in this world. She was the kind of mother and grandmother who was always there, always cheering, and always proud. She especially loved watching her grandchildren play softball and baseball, spending countless hours at the ball field cheering them on from the stands. Those moments, surrounded by the people she loved most, were some of her happiest.

Angela also loved making memories with her family. About two years ago, she discovered a love for cruising, and those trips quickly became something special to her. She loved the beach and looked forward to family vacations in Orange Beach, Alabama, where the family would gather each year. Sometimes, a full vacation wasn't necessary---she was just as happy taking a day trip to the beach and enjoying time together.

Angela had a love for simple things that made life special. She loved singing, baking, and cooking. She adored her three dogs, Ryder, Roxi, and Rosie, as well as her numerous cats. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and took great joy in decorating and making the season beautiful for the people she loved.

Angela's kindness, humor, and personality made her unforgettable. She had a way of making people laugh, making them feel loved, and making ordinary moments into memories. Her family will forever treasure the love she gave so freely and the memories she created throughout her life.

Angela's greatest legacy will always be the love she poured into her family. Though her physical presence is gone, her laughter, her lover, her stories, and the memories she created will live on through the people who knew and loved her.

Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Crisel (Gibbs); her father, Eddie Gibbs; her brother Raymond Gibbs; her uncles, Norwood Latimer and Lynwood Latimer; and her grandparents, Ruth Latimer and Louis Latimer.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her soulmate, Robert Purvis Sr.; her best friend (sister) Janice Shaw; and her children, Robert "Robbie" Purvis Jr., Alisha Purvis, Derek Angle, and Katelyn Butler (Brandon); and her beloved grandchildren, Jada Chaney, Emalee Purvis, Aniyah Teamer, McKenzie Purvis, Kaylee Purvis, Gabriel Purvis, Cori Butler, and Jaxon "Bubba" Neal and her nephews Kyle Gibbs (Amber) and Mason Gibbs.

She also leaves behind countless family members and friends whose lives were made better simply because Angela was a part of them.

She was deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed. And she will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, soulmate, family, and friend.

"Until we meet again, Mom. We love you more than words could ever say."
