Alvin Stevenson, Jr

Al, a lifelong resident of Biloxi passed away on April 24, 2018 peacefully at home.
Born on May 21, 1947 to Doug and Louise Stevenson, he was the first born and only son of eight children. He graduated from BHS in 1965, having proudly served as Big Red his senior year, he loved riding in on horseback, and shooting the flaming arrow. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the pacific. Upon returning home, he worked in various jobs throughout the years, mainly off shore because of his love of the sea and the opportunity to travel. He worked for MS Coast Supply as his last job before retirement. Al never met a stranger, if you became a friend of his, then you were his friend for life. He will be deeply missed by so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Alvin D. Stevenson, Sr. and Louise (McMath) Stevenson; his in-laws, Joel and Irene Brown; his sister Leona Benfield; brothers in law Jimmie Fayard, Sr., John St.Amant, Sr. James O'Neal; nephews John St. Amant, Jr. John Fayard, Colin Fayard and Dylan; numerous other loved ones.
Al is survived by his wife, Anna (Brown) Stevenson; his son Joel D. Stevenson (Stephanie); his grandsons Elijah and James William that he adored; sisters, Sharon (Gary) Fayard, Mary Ann (Mike) Kisner, Lou Anna St.Amant, Julie O'Neal, Melanie (David) Hutchens and Johnnie Lynn Fayard ; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The family thanks the staff at the VA Hematology Clinic, and the staff of Saad Healthcare, for the special care given to Al during his illness.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2018 from 3:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 5:00 PM, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd at Washington Ave., in West Jackson County for all friends and family.
