Alton Anthony Travirca, Sr., 72, of Kiln, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Gulfport.
Mr. Travirca was a lifelong resident of Kiln. He was a lifelong shipbuilder, retiring from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed fishing and crabbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Alphonse Travirca and Carrie Elizabeth Travirca; his daughter, Dorothy Ann Travirca; his grandson, Joshua Anthony Kmetz; and two brothers, Leon and Jimmy Travirca.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Travirca; daughter, Barbara Chambliss (Anthony); son, Tony Travirca, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Kayla Kmetz, Alexandria Travirca and Caleb Anthony Travirca; great-grandchild, Liam Deese; 2 sisters, Rita Haas and Betty Garcia; and other loving family members and friends.
Friends are invited to join the Travirca family for a time of visitation from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian. Burial will be held at a later date at Bayou CoCo Cemetery.
