Alton Hugh Blackwell, Sr., age 82 of Biloxi, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Blackwell; his parents, Hugh and Alma Blackwell; his sister, Roberta Bard; and his brother, James Blackwell.
Alton is survived by his wife of 8 years, Emma Blackwell; his children, Alton Blackwell, Jr. (Brandy) and Lisa Blackwell Daley (Michael); his sister, Edith Jane Schultz; his grandchildren; Adam Blackwell, (Eunice), Jaimie Daley Helmly (Lewis), Alex Daley, Christopher Daley (Cheyanne), Haley Blackwell Walker (Julio), Richard Daley, Zachary Daley, and Elijah Daley; his great grandchildren, Tyler Blackwell, Wynter Daley, Luc Helmly, Kiyah Averhart, Maggie Helmly, Apollo Daley, and Molly Helmly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
After retiring from the United States Army, he worked as Manager of a Warehouse at the Seabee Base.
Alton loved fishing, raising freshwater fish, and tinkering. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Long Beach.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach. A visitation will start at 9:30 until the mass, followed by interment at Allen Cemetery.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is serving the family.
