Alma C. Vice

Alma Christian Vice, age 96, of Helena, passed away peacefully at home on February 29, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie W. Vice, 2 sons, Bennie Neils ""Boots"" Vice and Dennis ""Mick"" Vice, a great-grandson, Lucas Cole Vice, and her parents, Zallie C. Christian and Lois Evelyn Tanner (Bosh) Stringfellow.
She is survived by her son, Gerry P ""Stink"" Vice and his wife, Iris, 2 daughters, Ruth Evelyn Clemens and her husband, Bill, and Judy Carol Vice, 12 grandchildren, Rickey (Donna) Vice, Susie (Brett) Matsuba, Dwain (Tabitha) Vice, Darryl (Jenny) Vice, John D. (Kim) Vice, William Paul (Tonya) Vice, Kristi Vice, Curt (Amiee) Vice, Benji Vice, Michelle Vice, John Michael (Brittany) Vice, and Serre (J.J.) Harris, 16 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Vice was born in Harleston, MS and has lived most of her life in the Helena community. She was a member of the Helena Presbyterian Church and remained active at the church until her death. She was affectionally known as ""maw"" to her immediate family but the entire community knew her as ""Aunt Alma."" Her home was the gathering place for lunch, 10:30 coffee with Denzel Harrison, and all family events. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and would often be seen in her swing on the front porch enjoying the outdoors. One of her greatest joys was baking pies for her family, the church, and anyone who stopped to visit. She was the ""Jewel of our family!""
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016, from 9 - 11 am at the Helena Presbyterian Church and the funeral service will begin at 11 am in the sanctuary. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Helena.
