Alice Faye Broder Cooley, 70, left the arms of her loved ones and walked into the arms of her Savior Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Gulfport, MS.
A native of North Dakota, Alice was born in Drayton on March 5, 1945, one of thirteen children. While attending beauty college in California, she met and married Jewel Ray Cooley, the love of her life and a career Air Force military member. The family lived in California, Japan, Maine and Texas, and retired in Gulfport, MS. Alice was an active member of Keesler Air Force Base Triangle Church and Our Lady of Fatima, where she selflessly volunteered behind the scenes. Her love and care for others touched the lives of many military families and the elderly in the community. She loved giving and supported many missionaries and charities throughout her life. She was an exceptional wife, mother, homemaker, sister and friend. She loved hairdressing, cooking, baking and collecting and sharing recipes. Celebrations with family and friends were made even more memorable by Alice's love of life and fun and something ""special"" from her heart and kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose Peter Broadeur and Alma Rose LaRose Broadeur; her sisters, Delores Mosolf, and Mary Louise Croch; and her brothers, Ambrose, Dennis, Leo Lester, George, Robert and John Broudeur.
Survivors include her dearly loved, and devoted sons, Jeffrey Ray Cooley and Brian Wayne (Nikki) Cooley; the joy of her life, her grandson, Aidan Issac-Cooley, of Gulfport, MS; her cherished siblings, Joanne Prigge, of Grafton, ND, Margaret Mary ""Peggy"" Pariseau of Vancouver, WA, Thomas Brodeur, of Amarillo, TX, and James Richard Brodeur, of Great Falls, MT; and many special nieces and nephews. Alice leaves a huge void in the hearts of the many who loved her, but we were truly loved by her.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the caring staff members of Gulfport Memorial Hospital, Gulfport Care Center, Boyington Nursing Home, Orange Grove Dialysis Center, and Deaconess Hospice and Home Health Care.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
