Alexander McKeith Crighton, Jr., 85, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013.
He was born in New Orleans, LA on May 29, 1928. He raised his family in Lafayette and New Orleans. Upon retirement he moved to Bay St. Louis, until he and his wife were displaced by Hurricane Katrina to Thibodaux, Two years later his home was rebuilt and he moved back home to Bay St. Louis, MS.
Keith had a great affection for his wife, children, family, friends and church. He graduated from St. Stanislaus High School and attended Tulane University. He had a successful career in Sales for many years and as a business owner prior to retirement. He was the Commodore of the Bay Waveland Yacht Club in 1985. He enjoyed life to its fullest, had a great love for sailing, fishing and enjoyed traveling to Europe. He passed along his love for being on the water to his children. For several years he battled Dementia with dignity. Keith is now at peace, and watching over all those he loves
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Alexander McKeith Crighton, mother, Clyde Rogers Crighton, his wife, Ruth Crane Crighton, daughter, Cynthia Crighton Taylor, and sister, Clyde Crighton Richardson.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Alexander M. ""Kip"" Crighton III and his wife Angela, Chris E. Crighton and his wife Tina, his sister Kathleen Crighton and son-in-law Phil Taylor.
His family would like to thank the staff at Orange Grove Medical Center, Dr. Boyd Benefield and the staff at Biloxi Community Living Center for their loving care, kindness, and thoughtfulness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2414 17th St., Gulfport, MS at 12 Noon on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Relatives and friends of the family may visit one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at Hope Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2414 17th St., Gulfport, MS 39501 or the Alzheimer's Association, MS Chapter, 196 Charmant Dr., Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157-4353.
