Alexander Acevedo

Alexander ""Alex"" Acevedo, age 18, of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. He attended Gulfport High School and was a sophomore at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carlos Acevedo and Gladys de la Pena of Cuba; maternal grandparents, Dorman and Madeline Allen of Gulfport; and uncle, Carlos Acevedo of Cuba.
Alex is survived by his parents, Henry Acevedo and Tammy (Sam) Fretenborough, all of Gulfport; his siblings, Ezekiel and Tera Acevedo and Gabriela Siman of Gulfport; his paternal aunts and uncles, Alexis, Ayde, Sandra, William and Alexander ""Geyego""; his maternal aunts and uncles, Tim (Cathy) Allen of Destin, FL, Lisa (Kirk) Nicolaisen and Dorman (Rebecca) Allen of Gulfport; and numerous cousins, friends and other relatives that will remember him lovingly and will always cherish their memories with him.
He was known for his kindness and gentle nature, as well as his generosity. He loved his family dearly, especially his siblings. His smile, sense of humor, and personality will be missed forever.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 4:00 p.m.
