Alan Andrews

July 8, 1943 — July 23, 2016

Alan Clark Andrews was welcomed into God's arms and shrouded by heaven's grace on July 23 after bravely fighting cancer for many years.
Alan is survived by his parents, James & Doris Andrews; his loving children, Ava Ladner and her husband, Mark, Shena Hagaman and her husband Clint, Kevin Andrews and Kimberly Meneke; his beloved grandchildren, Nickolas Hagaman, Reyse Ladner, Avari Ladner, and Alden Ladner; and close friend Libby Desselles.
Alan was born on July 8, 1943. He grew up in Angleton, Texas with two sisters, Renee Simmons and Genelle Hurta. He worked as an independent contractor for A.C. Construction for 30 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam War and served in the US Army. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter Badge. He received an honorable discharge from the US Army on August 9, 1967.
Alan had an infectious and outgoing personality. He lived his 73 years, celebrating life to the fullest. His children and grandchildren were at the very center of his world. He enjoyed wood carving, drawing, playing with grandkids, and walking the Ocean Springs Bridge with his daughters.
Alan will be remembered by family and friends for his kind heart, his spirited and charming personality, his brilliant mind, and his loyal character. All who knew him were touched by his love, positivity and strength.
Celebration of Alan's Life will be held at a private residence. Alan's wish was to be cremated and for loved ones to celebrate his life with smiles, laughter and love.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, at the corner of Washington Ave. and Lemoyne Blvd., Ocean Springs, served the family.
