Aida N. Stewart, 85, of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stewart was born in 1931 in Puerto Rico. She and her husband retired to Gulfport, where they had been residents since 1976. She worked as a secretary with the DMV in Puerto Rico and she was also an actress, performing in a Spanish soap opera.
She was a loving mother and loved her family deeply. She was very devout, praying every night. And she enjoyed cooking and she had a wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Stewart; her son, Thomas W. Stewart, Jr.; her daughter, Diana Inez Stewart; and 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include her six children, Mary S. Kelly (Wayne), Raymond T. Stewart (Chris), Billy W. Stewart (Dianne), Joe D. Stewart (Stephanie), Beverly J. Hobbs (Steve) and James E. Stewart; her 19 grandchildren, Shannon, Patti, Holly, Evangeline, Joy, Nicholas, Patrick, Joe Jr., Christine, Sarah, Samantha, Rebekah, Joshua, Chasity, Stacey, Brandon, Ryan, Aubrey and Morgan; her 14 great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Nerieda Summers and Selinda Haussler; her sister-in-law, Mary Navarro; and her beloved dog, Chacha.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at a later date in Electra, Texas, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, son and daughter.
