Agnes Gant was born on October 14, 1935, in Vaiden, Mississippi. She was the fourth of six children born to Luceal and Robert Gant. In 1952, Agness married Roderick Williams. They had three children, Joann Baker, Roderick Taylor Williams, and Mike Williams. Roderick and Agnes were married just shy of 50 years when he fell asleep in death. Agnes had the joy to see his baptism ten years prior to his death. 

Later, Agnes married Lavell Lang from McComb, Mississippi. She lived in McComb for 11 years, until Lavell's death. She then moved back to the MS Coast. 

In the past, Agnes was a small business owner. She was an excellent seamstress. She had sewed clothes for a beauty pageant, clothes for a local college and had the special privilege to sew costumes for a Bible based drama. Very few knew that she was an amazing artist. From clay taken from the ground, she could sculpt anyone's likeness. She loved flowers and once picked enough seeds of Marigolds to fill a 5-gallon bucket and then some. Agnes was a great cook and made a mean lasagna. 

Agnes had a special place in her heart for children and spoke to them often. She would entertain the grandchildren with projects or by simply giving the children a cookie and hosting an old-fashioned tea party.

Agnes loved her God Jehovah. She was baptized in 1955. When given the opportunity, she would share scriptures that brought her comfort. One such example is Psalms 37, that one day the whole Earth will be a paradise. Another example is Revelation 21, that sickness and death will be done away with one day. Agnes lived to see all three of her children baptized and serving Jehovah. 

Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Roderick Willilams and Lavell Lang; her mother and father, Luceal and Robert Gant; her sisters, Mozell Puckett, Elaine Monaghan, her brother Robert Odell (Sonny) Gant, and her sister Minne Williams. 

She is survived by her sister, Sussie Hanburg; brother-in-law, Bobby John Williams; her daughter, Joann Baker (Jr. Baker); her sons, Taylor Williams (Pat Williams), and Mike Williams (Kindness Williams); her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held to honor Agnes Lang on Saturday, January 24, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM at the East Central Shelter, 18413 Highway 613, Moss Point, Mississippi. A reception will follow the memorial service.
