Addie Wittmann, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Elmer Hagin, Sr. and Fannie Hagin; a daughter, Myra Ann Wittmann; and a brother, James Elmer Hagin, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William ""Bill"" Wittmann of Gulfport; her children, Sally Wilson and her husband, Derrel, William Thomas ""Tommy"" Wittmann Jr. and his wife, Dana, and Jack Wittmann and his wife, Jennifer, all of Gulfport; a sister, Ouida ""Tee"" Cundiff; her grandchildren, Derrel Wilson and his wife, Beth, Daniel Wilson, David Wilson, Mary Wilson, Kristi Webb and her husband, Brandon, Marian Wittmann, and Clark Wittmann; 5 great grandchildren; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
Addie grew up in Pineville and was a graduate of Pass Christian High School. She was employed with Hancock Bank and retired after 35 years of service. She loved volunteer work and served with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for over 20 years while volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport. She enjoyed camping and traveling with Bill and her children.
The matriarch of her family, Addie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was Bill's lifelong love and he was always by her side.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport MS 39501.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 7, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
