Ada Toups, age 101, passed away peacefully in 2026, leaving behind a lifetime defined by love, warmth, and deeply cherished memories for all who knew her.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ada’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her daughter Paula; her sons Robert and Patrick; her grandson Robert; her granddaughters Emily, Shawanda and Melissa; her great-grandsons Dylan, Brett and Lane; and eight great-grandchildren including Sophie who spent a lot of personal time with her. She gave her family unwavering support, kindness, and affection throughout her life, and her love will continue to guide them.

Ada had a gentle spirit and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She especially loved birdwatching, often pausing to appreciate the quiet beauty of nature. In her later years, she embraced technology with curiosity and delight, spending time on her iPad listening to her favorite music and watching videos that brought her comfort and happiness.

Remarkably, Ada remained sharp and engaged until the very end, her mind as keen as ever and her presence as warm as always. Her strength, clarity, and grace were a constant source of inspiration.

She will be remembered for her loving heart, her quiet resilience, and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love will live on through her family for generations to come.

The family will receive friends at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Service begins at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Garden in St. Bernard Parish, LA at 1:00 PM.
