Eric Underwood

Eric Jay Underwood, 37, of Hancock County, passed away suddenly on January 1, 2021. He was born January 19, 1983 in New Orleans, the son of Michele Underwood and Ricky Gros. He is and will always be the devoted father of Ethan Underwood who he raised with the first love of his life, Chelsi Jackson. He graduated from Hancock High School in 2001, where he was a well known member of both the football and the baseball team. He was currently employed at Acme Truckline where he has been a long and loyal employee.

Eric is survived by his parents Michele and Ricky; his twin brother, Erron (Jennifer), and his two younger brothers, Ricky (Kellie) and Rory (Ashia). Eric treasured his relationship with all of his brothers, and he loved them immensely. Eric leaves behind his godson along with multiple nieces and nephews who he adored beyond measure. He also leaves his maternal grandfather, Jerry Underwood. He is survived by too many cousins to count, several aunts, uncles and many lifelong friends and coaches. Eric is joining his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Beverly Gros Sr. in heaven. We know that he arrived there “right on time” with Chris Lemar, CL, MeMe, and Uncle Tom waiting for him with open arms. Eric knew all things sports, and we find comfort knowing that he now has front row seats to any and all future sporting events. Eric had an infectious laugh, a heart of pure gold, and an unmatched personality. To know him was to love him, and we will love him forever.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 1pm, where the visitation for family and friends will begin at 10am, both at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian.
