Mrs. Carol Jean Davis-Schuckert Age 80 passed away on August 2, 2022 in Gulfport
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Louise Schuckert
Survivors include her husband Bruce W. Davis of Gulfport; her daughter Jacquelynn M. Fortner (Johnny) of Lucedale and her son Jeffrey Scott Davis (Tina) of Saucier. She also leaves behind three grandchildren Sara Jean Davis (Jamie), Alex Davis and granddaughter Claire Madison Marchese. She also leaves behind three Great Grandchildren, John, Thomas and Charlotte and her brother, David H. Schuckert; of Bradenton Florida.
Carol was born in 1941 in Copley Ohio and graduated from Copley High School in 1959. She attended Beauty School and became a hairdresser but never practiced the profession because she married Bruce Davis in 1961 and became a career-Seabee’s wife. Due to her husband’s assignments, she raised her two children almost single-handedly while her husband deployed all over the world during the next 22 years of his career.
Professionally Carol re-invented herself many times. At various times in her career, she managed two Telephone Answering service offices in Gulfport and Pascagoula and for six years she served as the Career Center Technician for the Gulfport High School. She had a great impact on the lives of the many students who utilized the Career Center. Her leisure interests included playing team tennis at the Gulfport Racquet Club; Played Contract Bridge where she earned an ACBL Life Master Bridge rating and became a talented painter while studying art and Jeff Davis Junior College. She was an active member of the Gulf Coast Art Association.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2022. The family will receive friends from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00, with funeral services at 9 AM a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, MS. An 11 AM graveside service will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
