Veterans Day Celebration Cookout 2011
Monday, November 14, 2011 to Wednesday, October 31, 2012On Veterans Day, November 11th, 2011, Riemann Family Funeral Homes celebrated by grilling out to honor those that have served our country. With beautiful weather here on our Mississippi Gulf Coast, we met many veterans from across the coast. Our program included the singing of the National Anthem by Jennifer Pav Walker, a prayer from Rev. John McCay, the presentation of the colors from the Gulfport High School J.R.O.T.C., keynote speaker General Joe Spraggins, and a 9-shot salute and taps from the Keesler Air Force Base Honor Guard. It was a special day and a wonderful chance to show our appreciation. Take a look at some of the pictures from the day and we hope you will all join us next year!

Pink Heart Fund- Festival of Trees 2011
Tuesday, November 15, 2011 to Thursday, November 01, 2012At the Ron Meyers Christmas City craft show each year, there is an event called the Festival of Trees. Christmas trees are decorated and the winner is determined by the most money raised for that tree. The Pink Heart Fund is a non-profit organization founded by JoAn Niceley of Long Beach, MS. They provide wigs for children who have cancer. They also provide breast prosthetics for women who have had breast cancer. Melanie Lynch, one of our own staff here at Riemann Family Funeral Homes, decorated a tree on behalf of the Pink Heart Fund this year. They received approximately $1,300 in dontation between Saturday & Sunday, which was the most by any non-profit there. As a result, they also received an additional $1,000 from Ron Meyers for the Pink Heart Fund. At the end of the festival, the tree was sold for an addition $300, bringing the grand total to $2,600 raised for the 2 days for the Pink Heart Fund. Congratulations, Melanie & the Pink Heart Fund, on your success at the event! We hope that success is continued throughout the year and that you continue to touch lives among the Mississippi Gulf Coast! Enjoy our pictures of the event!
