Mark Stephen McCune, age 62, a veteran of the United States Navy and longtime resident of Long Beach, MS passed away Monday, January 9, 2023.

Mark, affectionately known as “Mac”, was born July 22, 1960, to George and Beverly (McCrea) McCune. He attended Kaiserslautern High School in Germany before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1979. As a Seabee for the Navy, Mark traveled the world spending time in Alaska, South Pole, California, China, Japan, Mississippi, and Oregon. He had many amazing stories of his time serving his country. Mark was a talented welder by trade and maintained multiple certifications in welding that served him well throughout his career. After retiring from the Navy in 2005, Mac continued to serve in a civilian capacity working for Gemini Tech where he provided training to new Navy recruits in welding.

Mac was preceded in death by his dad, George McCune; and his niece, Rachel McCune.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly McCune; partner, Angela Brewer; brother, Mike McCune (Angie); sister, Melody McCune; daughter, Caroline Brewer; niece, Gracie McCune; nephews, Chandler McCune & Robert Fitte; and three grandchildren, Graedyn Hosty, Brenden Cunningham, and Autumn Cunningham.

Mark Stephen McCune, loving son, partner, father, papa, uncle, brother, and friend passed away at age 62. He was best known for his quick-witted humor, BIG heart, and generous spirit. Mac lived near many good friends who helped to fill his life with joy. His family and friends will organize a memorial service to honor Mac's life and military service, which will be held in Long Beach, MS in April 2023.
