Robert Earl Plair, 77, a resident of Biloxi passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Gulfport.
Mr. Plair was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of honorable service, where he was a Production Control Technician and Mechanical Superintendent. While serving in the Air Force he earned several awards, including the Army Good Conduct Medal, AF Longevity Service Award with 4 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, AF Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He later also retired from Civil Service, where he was Maintenance Supervisor at the National Guard Base.
In his free time he enjoyed cooking, Asian cuisine, reading, airshows, and antique cars. He was steadfast, dependable, and always willing to help others. His family was the center of his life, and he was always faithful to them.
Mr. Plair was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Plair; sons: Scott Plair and Albert Plair; brother, Charles E. Plair; and his parents, Wright and Gertrude Plair.
He is survived by his sisters: Marie Dinkins of Bonifay, FL, Ruth VanCleave of Bonifay, FL, and Maxine Jones of Valdosta, GA; two grandsons: Johnny Plair and Tony Plair; and several nephews and one niece.
Friends are invited to visit from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
