Michael "Mike" Locklin, age 69, is now resting in his Heavenly home after a long battle with cancer.
Those waiting to welcome him into his Eternal Home are his dad, Charles H. Locklin, Sr., his nephew, Jeffery Scott Locklin, and his step-granddaughters, Elisa Kay Esperance.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Kay Locklin; his mother, Evelyn Lockiln; a brother, Dr. C.H. (Diane) Locklin, Jr., a sister, Janis Locklin; niece, Faith (John) Tuite; nephews, Joseph McGhee and Michael McGhee; his step-children, Donna (Joe) Esperance, Candy (Walt) Helveston; Wayne (Kate) Buley; 10 step-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Mike graduated from Gulfport High School and from Mississippi College. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Sub Marine Division aboard the U.S.S. Holland and the U.S.S. Petree as a Radioman 2nd class. He later entered the plumbing field and was a member of Local 568 Plumber's and Steam Fitters Union. Mike was a lifelong Baptist and was presently attending First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis. Mike was a member of Timber Ridge Golf Club and was a member Gulfport Masonic Lodge #422 and was a member of Joppa Shrine Temple.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 8:30 am to 9:45 am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 9:45 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
