Rex J. Brodkorb, age 53, of Long Beach, passed away on April 22, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Pearce Brodkorb, a daughter, Christina Brodkorb, U.S. Navy, a step-son, Jeremy (Amy) Pullen, his parents, Robert and Ruth Brodkorb, 2 sisters, Debora (LaDean) Kleinsasser and Johnna (Moe) Waldner, 3 grandchildren, Gabby, Rileigh, and Faith Anne, his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Pearce, 2 sisters-in-law, Donna Pearce, and Dell Pearce, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Rex was a native of South Dakota and lived on the coast for 35 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a builder in the SeaBees. He recently retired from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport where he worked in Communications. He enjoyed building, working with tools, working on cars, and playing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Gulf Coast Worship Center and a member of American Legion Post 59, Wolsey, South Dakota.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 4 - 6 pm at Gulf Coast Worship Center, 18381 28th Street, Long Beach, MS 39560. A funeral service will be held at 6 pm in the church sanctuary.
