Rebecca West Hynum

Rebecca West Hynum, age 81, of Gulfport, passed away at home on July 2, 2015 surrounded by her family.
""Beck"" was born to the late Bill and Cora West and remained a lifelong resident of the Lyman community. She was married to her high school sweetheart, John Hynum, for over 65 years. Together they owned and operated Hynum's Conoco in Lyman for 17 years at which time they retired. She was a lifelong member of Gateway United Methodist Church.
""Beck"" was preceded in death by her husband, John Hynum, 2 sisters, Margaret ""Lib"" (Ernie) Campbell and Jo (James) Laird, 5 brothers, William ""Bill"" West, Benny Earl West, Robert ""Bob"" West, Donald ""Eley"" (Frances) West, Cliff (June) West.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Peggy Cowart and Brenda Hynum, 2 loving sons-in-law, Dean Cowart and Dave Seland, 2 sisters-in-law, Enola (Bonnie) West and Elizabeth West; grandsons, Dale Cowart, John Cowart, Todd Odem, Daniel Odem and Xavier Gracia; great-grandchildren, Deana (Justin) Brosh, Colby Cowart and his mother, Sonya Weekley Cowart; and great-great grandchildren, Anniston and Easton Brosh. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, and her longtime friends, Cheri McHugh and Sylvia Dedeaux. The family would also like to extend special thanks to SAAD Health Care and Hospice and Orange Grove Dialysis Unit.
Visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2015, from 9:30 am - 11 AM at Gateway United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the church. Burial will be in Finley Cemetery.
