Peggy Lynne Scannaliato

Peggy Lynne Scannaliato, age 67, and a resident of Gulfport, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 3, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Scannaliato resided in Gulfport from her teenage years, where she attended Gulfport High School and Jefferson Davis Community College. She retired from FEMA last December where she had been employed for nearly a decade. Prior to FEMA, she was employed for 25 years at Gulf Oaks and Gulf Coast Community Hospital as the Admissions Supervisor and in the business office. She was also employed for several years at Harrison Central High School.
Mrs. Scannaliato was a devoted and loving grandmother, mother, wife, and friend, who loved to travel and to attend music concerts. She was a voracious reader of fiction, but also loved reading about and trying new recipes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Horne and Virginia Harding; beloved stepfather, Charles Harding; a brother, Donald Moffitt; and her former spouse, Bev Alt.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Anton Scannaliato of Gulfport; daughters, Michelle Alt Hazlett and her husband, Dr. J. Mark Hazlett II, of Mandeville, LA, Marlo Alt Hendrix of Tupelo; and daughter of her heart, Caitlin Renee Scannaliato of Gulfport; and her four beloved grandchildren, Evan Mark Hazlett, Sabyn Iris Hazlett, Sarah Lynne Hazlett and Eron Iva Hendrix.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, and the family will host a Reception after the service in the funeral home's reception center.
