Myrtle Sones Tynes, age 93, of Biloxi, passed away on July 24, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Magnus Omer Tynes; her parents, Randall L. and Lula Lumpkin Sones; a sister, Willie Mae Sones Flynt.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann "Pat" (Gerald) White, Brandon, MS; a son, Douglas L. (Charlene) Tynes, Gautier, MS; 7 grandchildren, Christy Gustin (Allan), Randall Tynes (Tina), Monte Tynes (Leilani), Sarah Catherine Sforzini (Hank), Douglas White (Lea), Madison Foster (Brooks), and Lanie Tynes; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a native of Poplarville and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1946. Mrs. Tynes retired after 25 years of service at Keesler Air Force Base. She was a member of Bay Vista Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Sunday School Class and the Crusaders.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bay Vista Baptist Church, 2485 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531, or a charity of your choice.
Honoring her wishes, a short graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Floral Hills Mausoleum, Gulfport. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, is serving the family and an online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com
