Marilyn Irene Moxcey Blaine, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in Long Beach after a long battle with COPD surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn attended one year in what is now called community college but at the time called post graduate high school. She then enrolled in the Army where she learned how sheltered her life had been! "Mickey" had quite the stories to tell about those days. She became an Army photographer, model and secretary. After her children were raised she worked as a florist and bookkeeper.
She was an actress in an Armed Forces Recruitment film where she met the love of her life, "Dick" Blaine. They shared a home in New Jersey, Saipan, Alaska, Rhode Island, and California and for the last 40+ years in Long Beach, MS.
She was a tireless and dedicated wife, mother and employee, always doing whatever it required to fulfill her duty in each of these roles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" T. Blaine; parents, Richard and Birdena Pickens Moxcey; brother, Richard "Dickie" Moxcey and sister, Patricia (Stan) Marston.
She is survived by her brother Robert (Bobby) and his wife Dot Moxcey of Crestview, FL.; children, Bernadette (Bunny) Blaine of Long Beach, Richard (Rick) T. Blaine Jr (Becky) of Narragansett, RI, William "Bill" Blaine (Freda) of Long Beach, Janice Jones (Calvin) of Saucier, Rosemary Threadgill (Buddy) of Saucier; 11 Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 21456 Daugherty Rd, Long Beach, MS.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach is serving the family.
In lieu of flower memorials can be made to American Lung Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
