Harry A. Hirsch, age 73, of Pass Christian, passed away on January 26, 2014, in Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Hirsch and Sara Stokes.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years, Barbara ""Barb"" Hirsch, his children, Terri (Michael) Warley, Dana (Thomas) Barrett, and Kelly-Jo (David) Johnson, his siblings, Nancy Eroh, Sherry Ann Stokes, Ann Harvey, and Chuck Stokes, 7 grandchildren, Chelsi (Jeremiah) Greear, Brooke Warley, Sage Barrett, Sinclair Johnson, Christian Johnson, Jonah Johnson, and Noah Johnson, his beloved pets, ""Browndog"", ""Buddy"", ""Licorice"", and ""Dolce"", and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He began his professional career with Sperry Univac Corp. and later retired from the gaming industry where he traveled the world as a consultant. Mr. Hirsch was a member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Ft. Pierce, FL. He and his wife have been residents of the coast since 1993. He enjoyed fishing, football, photography, and all aspects of nature. He also enjoyed genealogy and history. The greatest aspect of his life, however, was loving his family.
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, January 30, 2014, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Visitation will be from 6 - 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lymphoma/Leukemia Foundation at St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, or the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David LaRosa and Dr. Allison Wall of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and the staff at MD Anderson in Houston, TX for their loving care and support.
