Gordon Jay Bissett Jr. 56, went to be with the Lord on July 24th 2016 after a short battle with cancer. His loving wife Lynn Bissett was by his side at their home in Gulf Port Mississippi. Gordon was born October 7th 1959 in Battle Creek to Gordon and Sandra Bissett of Battle Creek.
Gordon was the beloved husband of Lynn Bissett. Gordon and Lynn were together several years and joined in marriage December 7th 2012 in Gulfport Mississippi. Gordon and Lynn shared an unconditional love for each other. Gordon assisted Lynn through some medical conditions prior to his illness. They shared in giving each other comfort through difficult times. Gordon enjoyed the outdoors, playing guitar by the ocean, drawing, making videos, NASCAR and carrying the word of the Lord to family and friends. Gordon and his wife Lynn attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father Gordon Jay Bissett and mother Sandra Kay Louise Weaver, a brother Chad Whitmore, his step daughter Theresa Lynn Dufrene and his nephew Johnathon Ferguson. Gordon is survived by his wife Lynn Bissett, Brother Jeff Bissett (Tracy) of Nashville MI, Sisters, Zebbra Palmerton (Keith) of Union City, MI, Sherri Bissett Gregory (Mark) of Battle Creek, MI, Christine Bissett (Steve) of East Leroy, MI and Angela Jones of Battle Creek, MI, step-sister Tiffany Crane of Columbus, OH and step-brother Trevor Crane of Battle Creek, MI, also 8 Niece's, Tonya Ferguson, Jennifer Corby, Jennelle Corby, Brittany Jones, Samantha Bissett, Kelsey Vonk, Savanna Gregory and Haillie Gregory and 2 Nephews Jeffery Bissett and Curtis Harrington, several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 403 Division St., Union City, Michigan on Sunday August 7, 2016 at 4pm, open to all family and friends. There will be a dinner following the service. The family would appreciate any help with a dish to pass. For more information please email zpalmerton@yahoo.com.
