Frank L. Irwin, Jr., age 89, of Long Beach, formerly of Joelton, TN, passed away on January 26, 2015, in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. Irwin, Sr. and Kathryn O'Brien Irwin, and a brother, William Irwin.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Georgie Irwin, nieces and nephews, Debbie (Roy) Gilmore, William W. (Marilyn) Irwin, Jr., Mary ""Kathy"" (Greg) Stokes, Leslie (Alison) Irwin, John (Kim) Irwin, and Matthew (Kim) Irwin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Father Ryan High School in Nashville and later served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired after 31 years as a surveyor with Metropolitan Nashville Highway Authority. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Joelton, TN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd., Long Beach, MS 39560, where friends may visit from 9 am - 9:30 am. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
