Francis Conrad Joffrion, Sr., 98, passed away peacefully January 28, 2015 in Gulfport, MS.
Known to everyone as Conrad, he lived a happy and fulfilling life. He was born May 21, 1916 in Erwinville, LA and moved as a child with his family to Mississippi. He was a veteran of World War II in which he served as a member of the U. S. Coast Guard. At the end of the war he returned to Gulfport where he worked at the State Port of Gulfport and retired after a 35âyear career.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Clementine Lois Joffrion, his parents, E. O. and Emmalise Guerin Joffrion, four brothers, Charles, Ellis, Claude and Paul as well as two sisters, Evelyn Kates and Elmire Gosserand.
He is survived by his children, Frank Joffrion (Alice) of Baton Rouge, LA, Sylvia O'Connor of Baton Rouge,
LA and Timothy Joffrion (Margie,) of Gulfport, grandchildren, Shannon Alexander of Baton Rouge, LA,
Michael Joffrion (Jennifer) of Birmingham, AL and Lauren Joffrion of Mobile, AL and one great grandson,
Edward Francis Joffrion. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a kind, gentle and loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 4 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home at 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. Interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
