Frances L. Stark, 84, of Gulfport, passed away July 8, 2017 in Hixson, Tennessee.
Frances was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Albert and Marie Scholtes and resided in Gulfport most of her adult life. She attended Gulfport High School and completed a Physician's Assistant Program at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Frances Stark's life was characterized by her faith and her devotion to her many cherished friends, her church, her family, and most especially her Lord Jesus. Her daily morning prayer was "Lord, make me a blessing to someone today" and every day he did. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Frances is preceded in death by her late husband Thomas Rutherford Stark; parents, Albert and Marie; daughter Linda Marie McClendon and a sister Rose Marie Pugh.
Frances is survived by her son David (Elaine) McClendon; daughter Patricia (Lamar) Woodley; three grandsons Nick Woodley and Thomas and Shane McClendon; niece Sherry (David) Lee; nephews Charles (Kiju) and James (Wendy) McClendon; and two step-daughters Julie (Kenny) Summers and Theresa (Pete) Wendell.
Funeral services will be held at Bel Aire Baptist Church on July 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. David H. Lee officiating. Visitation for friends will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport is serving the family.
