Catharine June Hartzell

Catharine June Hartzell, 97, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Long Beach, MS.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E. Hartzell; Mother, Pearl Augusta Linebaugh; Father, Joseph Raymond Heiney; Brother, Paul Heiney; Sister-in-law, Marguerite Heiney; Sisters, Margaret Hawkins and Zelda Heiney Rathweg; Son-in-Law, Larry Jay Minzey; and Best Friend, Zenda Horn.
She is survived by her Sons and daughters-in-law, James and Pam Hartzell of Dayton, Ohio and Steve and Vickie Hartzell of Houston, Texas; Daughter, Jean Ann Minzey of Long Beach, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Rob and Laura Hartzell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephen Hartzell of Fredericksburg, Maryland, and Mike and Kim Shotts of Dayton, Ohio; Great-Grandchildren, Isabella and Ethan Hartzell, Elizabeth and Quentin Shotts, and Taylor Harris; and other relatives and friends: Nieces and Nephews, Becky Stout, John and Barbara Gilbert, Bob and Linda Dixon, Paul Truax, Kathleen and Butch Schaff, Maureen Lancaster, Sydney Hawkins, Jack Hawkins and Joan Caldwell.
Mrs. Hartzell was a native of Farmersville and Ellerton, Ohio, lived in New Lebanon, Ohio; Trinity Community Homes of Beavercreek - United Church Homes; Gonzales, Louisiana; Gulfport, Mississippi and Long Beach, Mississippi. She enjoyed summers in Northern Michigan annually and travel to England. She Graduate of Jefferson Township High School 1937, Dayton, Ohio with additional training from Court reporting school, and Ohio School Treasures and accounting advanced classes. She worked as the treasurer for the school boards for over forty years at School Board for Jefferson Township and Member of School Board and Trotwood Madison City Schools, Trotwood, Ohio, Member of School Board. She was a member of the Ohio 4-H Club Congress September, 1933, Member of church consistory and provided generous support to family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, tailoring, knitting and reading biographies and was a member of Family Worship Center, Gulfport, Mississippi and of Ellerton United Church of Christ, Ellerton, Ohio until 2002 and was an Emeritus Member, Altrusa International of Dayton, Ohio.
The family gives Todd Sichta, Donzella Riley, Barbara Jefferson, Faye Breland, Irdean Smith and everyone else who cared for Catharine their greatest gratitude.

Mrs. Hartzell was sent from RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Long Beach to Swart Funeral Home in West Carrollton, Ohio for services. Visitation will be Monday, 7/21/14 from 5-7pm at Swart Funeral Home with a Graveside Service at 11am on Tuesday at Ellerton Cemetery in Moraine, OH. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com.
