Bennie F. Hollis, 80, of Biloxi and a native of Carthage, MS, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Ellen Hollis and his daughter, Vicki Hollis Osher.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Joan E. Hollis; his step children, Jim (Toni) Greer, Sandy (Eddie) Wells, Mary Williams (Tommy Moran), Patty (Kenny) Mathers, Diane (Kenny) Moore, and Debbie (Joe) Aflague; his grandchildren, Stephanie Renee Stachura, Chad E. Osher, and Tyler F. Osher; and his great grandchildren, Brian W. Stachura and Cobi J. Rome.
Mr. Hollis is a graduate of the French Camp Academy, attended the University of Mississippi and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of dedicated service where he served in the Vietnam War. He also worked for 13 years at Gayfer's Furniture Store. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and cooking. Mr. Hollis is of the Methodist faith.
The funeral service will be on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 2:30 PM until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
